The Spanish side were keen to get the 25-year-old to extend his current contract until the summer of 2021 after he bagged an impressive 32 goals in all competitions for Atletico last season.
Speaking exclusively to the club’s website, Griezmann spoke of his happiness to stay at the Vicente Calderon.
“I’m very satisfied, very happy to keep belonging to this family and this project. I want to improve every year, and the club, the coaches and my teammates can help me to reach this goal.
“The club wants to keep the level as high as possible and we have to give everything to continue growing. I hope we can keep this way and continue with this progression”

However, incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte will now have to turn his attention elsewhere in his hunt for a new forward.
