Summer signing Andros Townsend has welcomed his first taste of Crystal Palace action after a pre-season outing in the USA.
Townsend joined the club in a £13million deal from relegated Newcastle United earlier this summer.
The winger managed around an hour against Philadelphia Union on Wednesday and he was delighted to get out on the pitch with his new team-mates for the first time.
“It was good. It was nice to get out there after a few weeks of training, pull on the shirt and try and get a bit of fitness in before the season starts,” he told the club’s official website.
“The first day I came in the boys welcomed me and we got to work straight away, so they’ve helped me settle in as quickly as possible. Out there I’m trying to build relationships with the right-back, the number 10 and the striker, and as pre-season goes on that connection will come.”
Palace face West Brom in the first round of Premier League fixtures and punters may wish to use their free bet to back the Eagles to take all three points on August 13.
