Tottenham star opens up on Monaco defeat: Wembley will start to feel like home soon

Spurs flunked their Champions League audition by losing 2-1 to Monaco on their European debut in the stadium last night, in front of a club record 85,011 fans.

But Alli insists they will soon get used to playing there – once they learn to be more ruthless in front of goal.

The England midfielder said: “I definitely hope we’ll learn from a night like this. The fans showed great support tonight with the numbers coming out.

“We need to make sure we learn from our mistakes and start games quicker and brighter. We need to finish strongly as well and be a lot more clinical.
