Tottenham have drifted off the pace at the top of the Premier League table but got back to winning ways with the Harry Kane-inspired win over Burnley on Saturday.
Vertonghem believes the north Londoners need to go on a winning run but he says they have the ability to do that as they are the best team he has played in during his time at the club.
“I still think we’re stronger than last year,” the Belgium defender said. “We just have to get that run going, hopefully around Christmas.
“We still have the same group and we’re still with each other. I see no reason not to get back on track during Christmas.
“A bit of luck is missing this year, but only Kyle Walker left us from that team and I see no reason we can’t do the same again.”
