Brighton have reportedly agreed to pay Tottenham £8m for their 23-year-old academy product Alex Pritchard.
And while fans will be disappointed to see him go, the large fee has led to some high praise for chairman Daniel Levy given the player’s lack of playing time.
The White Hart Lane faithful had high hopes for the player after seeing some of his dazzling displays for the club’s U21 side. However, injuries have hampered his progress and he has found it difficult to break into the first team under Mauricio Pochettino.
He was loaned to West Brom on deadline day in the 2016 January transfer window but made just two substitute appearances, though he impressed in a season long loan at Brentford in the 2014/15 season.
Here’s a selection of tweets from supporters following news of the potential transfer.
