Chelsea may have to move quickly if they wish to sign Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko as Hamburg have already launched a bid.
The 26-year-old joined the Magpies from Toulouse in January 2013 and penned a six-and-a-half year deal on Tyneside, but is looking to move on following relegation to the Championship.
The France international has been a regular in the Newcastle side over the past three years but could do nothing to prevent them slipping to relegation and a move away is on the cards.
Sissoko has openly spoken of his desire to join Arsenal, but the Gunners have yet to make their move. Chelsea and Liverpool have enquired over his availability, but it is Hamburg who have made the first move.
According to French publication L’Equipe, Hamburg have offered Newcastle £9.5million for the talented schemer and are waiting for a reply from the north-east outfit.
That could force Chelsea’s hand as Antonio Conte looks to add more strength to his midfield this summer.
