Hull are reported to be locked in talks with out-of-favour Everton striker Oumar Niasse as they look to bolster their squad.
The 25-year-old striker joined Everton from Lokomotiv Moscow in January in a deal worth £13.5million, but he has struggled to make an impact and will be allowed to leave Goodison Park.
Everton tried to offload him to Crystal Palace as part of the deal that took Yannick Bolasie to Merseyside, but the Eagles were not interested and wanted a straight cash deal.
Palace are unlikely to make a move and that could now leave the door open for the Tigers to swoop before the transfer deadline closes at the end of the month.
Turkish outfit Besiktas are also said to be in the hunt but the Tigers appear to be in the box seat after opening discussions with their Premier League rivals.
