Everton have apparently joined the race to sign Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko who wants out of St James Park.
The French midfielder shone for the host nation at Euro 2016 and that has led to a number of clubs being linked with a move for the player, but the Magpies may price him out of a move having slapped a £35m price-tag on his head.
As well as Everton, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have already been linked with the 27-year-old whose agent will apparently meet with interested parties later this week in Paris.
The player himself has been openly touting himself for a move to Real Madrid, something which has not gone down well with Toon boss Rafa Benitez.
“I told Moussa we know how things work in modern football and that is not the right way,” the former Los Blancos boss told the BBC.
“If someone wants him they need to come in now with the right offer and we’ll study it.
“If not he is still our player and he must carry on working hard. Every day will be more difficult because we are happy with him and don’t need to sell.”
