Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is reported to be lining up a summer swoop for Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote.
Pardew knows the Ivory Coast international well from his time in charge at St James’ Park and reports suggest a reunion could be on the cards at Selhurst Park.
The 29-year-old was heavily linked with a move to China during the January transfer window but a deal failed to materialise and he ended up staying with the Magpies.
However, following relegation to the Championship, Tiote is one player that Newcastle are willing to let go to ease the wage bill and Palace could offer him the chance to stay in the Premier League.
Palace are not the only interested party though as reports claim that West Brom and newly promoted Middlesbrough are also keen to secure a deal for the player.
