Sandro is waiting to hear if he has a West Brom future amid claims that Albion are keen on another combative midfielder – Cheick Tiote.
Albion have delayed a decision on whether to keep the ex-Tottenham star until their squad starts to take shape after the European Championships.
The Brazilian midfielder spent the second half of the season on loan at West Brom from Queens Park Rangers.
An option to buy the 26-year-old this summer was agreed when that deal was struck but head coach Tony Pulis and technical director Nick Hammond have not decided yet whether they want to keep him on.
Pulis is also understood to want Newcastle midfielder Tiote – who may be available after the Magpies’ relegation from the Premier League.
Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace, managed by his former boss Alan Pardew, are also interested in his services with the player thought to be available for £4million.
The 29-year-old, who is out of contract next summer, is one of a handful of first-team players expected to depart following Newcastle’s drop into the Championship.
