Tottenham’s third bid for Vincent Janssen has been turned down as AZ Alkmaar refuse to budge on the asking price.
Spurs have made no secret of their desire to sign the 22-year-old hitman this summer but have yet to reach the fee demanded by the Eredivisie outfit.
Bids of 10m euros and 12.5m euros have been turned down and the north Londoners upped their offer to 14m euros on Thursday night, but that was also refused.
Jansen’s superb strike rate has seen him move into the spotlight this summer and it may well be that Spurs do finally meet AZ’s demands.
But, for now, there is no deal to be done, according to the club’s technical director, Max Huiberts.
“The difference between the offer and the asking price is too big,” he said. “I hear a lot of rumours but nobody else has made an offer.”
