Crystal Palace endured a terrible weekend which resulted in Frank de Boer losing his job as manager on Monday morning.



Their 1-0 defeat at Burnley on Sunday meant Palace lost all their first four league games of the season without scoring a goal, becoming the first team to manage such a dreadful feat since Preston at the start of the 1924/25 campaign.

The Lilywhites succumbed to relegation at the end of that season, and Palace have acted quickly to replace De Boer to ensure the same fate does not occur to the Selhurst Park club.

So, Palace have matched an age-old record – and will be hoping not to set a new one by losing another game without scoring a goal – but what other records have existed in English football for years and years?
