Until 1981 clubs only gained two points for a win, so those more successful since then perhaps have an unfair advantage over some others, but the top 20 still makes for fascinating reading.


A total of 65 clubs have played in the top flight over the years, with champions Leicester (25th), Stoke (22nd), Burnley (24th), Southampton (26th), Crystal Palace (41st), Watford (45th), Swansea (47th), Hull (52nd) and Bournemouth (58th) among the current Premier League sides not to make the top 20.
