‘Thank you for the most enormous favour’ Farage’s farewell message to ‘arrogant’ Cameron

Mr Cameron is to stand down as MP for Witney with immediate effect, triggering a by-election in the Oxfordshire seat.

The former Prime Minister claimed he would be a “big distraction” from his successor Theresa May, and said he wanted to “build a life away from Westminster”.

Speaking to LBC‘s Iain Dale, the outgoing Ukip leader was asked to share his abiding memory of Mr Cameron after the news of the MP’s resignation emerged.

Casting his mind back to an incident on the radio show from 2006, Mr Farage said: “When asked by Nick Ferrari on LBC’s breakfast show, what he thought about Ukip and the growth of Ukip and he replied: ‘Ukip supporters are loonies, fruitcakes and closet racists mostly’.”
