Norwich midfielder Alex Tettey fears the ankle injury he picked up against Chelsea could end his season.
Tettey suffered the problem in the first half of Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat at Carrow Road and was immediately sent to hospital to undergo an X-ray.
It failed to reveal the full extent of the damage and the player is now waiting for the results of an MRI scan and is praying it does not show serious ligament damage.
“I was at the hospital after the game on Tuesday, and I hadn’t broken any bones, which is good,” he said. “But I’m going for another check-up, an MRI later on Wednesday.
“If the ligament in my ankle is ruined then I fear I’ll need an operation. If that’s the case then my season is probably finished. The next check-up will be interesting.”
