John Terry has started all four of Chelsea’s league games so far this season

Chelsea captain John Terry is set to have a scan on an ankle injury on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old Blues skipper was injured in Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Swansea and was seen leaving the Liberty Stadium on crutches.

He later posted a video on his Instagram page showing him undergoing treatment on the injury.

He is considered a doubt at this stage to feature in Friday’s home match against Liverpool.

Speaking after Saturday’s game, Blues boss Antonio Conte said: “I don’t know the extent of the injury but tomorrow we will see the situation about his ankle. But he is a warrior. I am not worried.”

If Terry does not play on Friday, Brazilian defender David Luiz – who returned to Stamford Bridge from Paris St-Germain in the summer – could deputise and make his second ‘debut’ for the club.
