Stoke striker Dom Telford is hoping he can force his way into the first team following a strong campaign for the under-21 side.
The 19-year-old joined the Potters last summer after opting not to renew his contract with Blackpool following 14 appearances for the Bloomfield Road outfit.
Telford failed to do enough to break through into the first team at the Britannia Stadium, but showed good form for the under-21 side.
The striker scored 13 goals this season before adding another four to that tally at this weekends Hong Kong Soccer 7s tournament.
The former Seasider is hoping his exploits in 2015-16 have caught the eye of senior boss Mark Hughes as he looks to make the step up.
I’ve loved the tournament. It has been a good chance to express yourself on a good stage, the forward said to stokecityfc.com.
My main aim is to be in the first team. I have been working hard on and off the pitch to give myself the best chance and I will continue to do so.
I’ve absolutely loved it this season, its a fantastic club with fantastic staff and lads around me. I feel like I have improved a lot and I’ve enjoyed every second.
Hopefully, when we return after the summer, I will start pre season like I’ve finished this one and keep on progressing.
