Arsenal have been hit by the news top transfer target Henrikh Mkhitaryan wants to sign for Manchester United instead.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the Armenia international, with some reports claiming a £25million deal is close to going through.
However Manchester United are also in the hunt and the player’s agent has suggested his client would prefer a move to Old Trafford over the Emirates Stadium.
Mkhitaryan has 12 months remaining on his current deal with Borussia Dortmund, but has no intention of penning a new one and the Bundesliga side want to cash in rather than risk losing him for nothing.
However United are favourites to do a deal according to Mino Raiola, who has been quoted as saying: “Man United is a unique opportunity, Micki wants to go there.”
Whether United make a bid remains to be seen, and there is still a chance he could end up signing for the Gunners.
