Swansea City head coach Franceso Guidolin will miss their Premier League match at Arsenal on Wednesday.
The Italian, 60, has been admitted to hospital with a chest infection and Alan Curtis will take the reigns in the meantime.
The Welsh side are 16th in the Premier League, three points clear of safety heading to the Emirates to face title-chasers Arsenal.
A statement on the club’s official website read:
“Swansea City head coach Francesco Guidolin will miss tonight’s Barclays Premier League fixture at Arsenal.
Guidolin has been struggling with a chest infection for over a week and after failing to respond fully to medical treatment, was referred to a respiratory specialist at a London hospital this afternoon.
The specialist felt that the best course of action was for Guidolin to remain in hospital for a few days to receive further treatment.
He is in a comfortable position and is expected to recover fully in a few days.
Everyone at Swansea City wishes him a speedy recovery.
Alan Curtis will carry out his duties during his recovery period.”
