The Swans are still rock bottom of the Premier League table following their 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on Boxing Day.
Swansea are five points away from safety but they can strengthen their squad in just a few days time and may need several new faces after a poor first half to the season.
In the last January window, they signed Martin Olsson, Tom Carroll, Luciano Narsingh and Jordan Ayew and they played their part as Swansea survived the drop. Now Britton admits more new recruits are needed next month.
He told the club’s official website: “We have January coming up. I am sure there will be some fresh faces coming in and we need that.
“Last January, the club brought some players in who gave us a big boost in the second half of last season, and doing something similar will be important this year.
“We have to try to lift the place by bringing some fresh faces into the squad.”
