Swansea 1 Liverpool 2: James Milner is Jurgen Klopp’s hero with late penalty

2 Oct

One, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, could scarcely be more in demand or in vogue right now as he builds a side many believe are capable of challenging for the title.

The other, Francesco Guidolin, loitering in the Swansea dugout, is unwanted and unloved – and seemingly certain to be put out of his misery soon.

Not that you would have guessed it during the opening 55 minutes of yesterday’s lunchtime showdown at a totally drenched Liberty Stadium.

At that stage Guidolin’s strugglers should have been out of sight, having ensured their Italian coach would at least finish an unhappy nine months on a high.

The fact Swansea were not well on their way to a first victory since the opening day of the season was mostly down to record buy Borja.

When a club like Swansea splash £15million on a striker, he simply has to hit the ground running.
