Swansea remain in the hunt to sign Sassuolo striker Gregoire Defrel, but face strong competition from Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
The striker is continuing to catch the eye in Italy after firing home seven goals in his last eight games, and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has now ordered his scouts to check him out.
Palace and Swansea were heavily linked with the 25-year-old in the summer and are continuing to track his progress ahead of the January transfer window, while Liverpool are also said to be interested.
Defrel was again on target when he grabbed the winner against Udinese at the weekend, and Sassuolo will face a battle to keep hold when the window re-opens.
The striker would jump at the chance to work with Arsene Wenger, but would have more chance of regular first-team football with either Palace or Swansea.
Swans boss Francesco Guidolin brought in Fernando Llorente and Borja Baston in the summer but is also using his contacts in Italy to track Defrel.
