After a disappointing start to the season, there was mounting pressure on Guidolin with talk last week that if the Swans lost to Liverpool then he might be out of a job after just nine months in south Wales.

Despite taking the lead, they did eventually go down 2-1 to Jurgen Klopp’s men and that defeat leaves Swansea hovering above the relegation zone with four points from seven matches.

It was claimed that former USA national team boss Bradley had held talks with the Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins last week, now the 58-year-old takes up his third managerial role in Europe.

The former Stabaek boss is currently in charge of Le Harve but will move to the Liberty Stadium after the French side’s game with Sochaux on Monday.

Bradley faces a tough baptism in the Premier League, with his opening game being at Arsenal following the international break on Saturday October 15.
