Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis has travelled to Marseille for a medical ahead of his season-long loan.

There is no deal in place a permanent transfer at the end of the loan.

French international Gomis, signed in 2014 after leaving Lyon, has often been linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium.

The 30-year old scored seven goals in 35 appearances last season and would be the third forward to depart Swansea this summer.

Portuguese striker Eder has moved to Lille and Italian Alberto Paloschi has joined Atalanta.

Swansea have signed defender Mike van der Hoorn, midfielder Leroy Fer and goalkeeper Mark Birighitti.

Chairman Huw Jenkins says the Swans want to sign “two more strikers”, with Tottenham winger Nacer Chadli also on the club’s shortlist.
