Former Man United midfielder Ryan Giggs has confirmed that he held talks with Swansea before Bob Bradley was appointed last week.
Giggs was reported to be in the running alongside Bradley and Wales manager Chris Coleman for the job as Francesco Guidolin was placed under growing pressure.
The Italian oversaw just one win from seven Premier League outings this season and was given the boot on October 3, while Bradley was brought in as a replacement on the same day.
Giggs has now confirmed that he did meet with Swansea for talks but ultimately believes they did not see eye-to-eye in terms of ambition.
Giggs said: “I was enjoying a bit of travelling and I got a call off Swansea and I met them a couple of times.
“But in the end it was just mixed messages really from the football side and the ownership side of the club and I felt their ambitions didn’t really match mine so it didn’t quite work out.”
