Arsenal will be no pushovers, though, as Arsene Wenger’s side look to secure another top-four finish after their title bid has faltered.

The fourth-placed Gunners are now unbeaten in their last six league outings after a wobble, while Sam Allardyce’s 18th-placed Wearsiders have won just two of their last ten.

The reverse fixture at the Emirates before Christmas saw Arsenal 3-1 winners – Joel Campbell, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud scored for the home side, while the latter also netted an own goal.

The teams are in from the Stadium of Light:

Sunderland: Mannone, Yedlin, Kone, Kaboul, Van Aanholt, Kirchhoff, Borini, Cattermole, M’Vila, Khazri, Defoe.
