Sunderland transfer news: Black Cats unable to raise asking price for Emanuele Giaccherini despite starring Italy role

14 Jun

Sunderland cannot increase their price tag on Emanuele Giaccherini following his heroics for Italy on Monday, according to his agent.

Giaccherini won plaudits for his superb opening goal in the Azzurri’s 2-0 win against Belgium in Lyon and is currently looking for a new club after falling out of favour at the Stadium of Light and spending last season on loan at Bologna.

AC Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina are all keen on landing Giaccherini on the cheap and his agent, Giulio Marinelli, believes Sunderland aren’t in any position where they can raise their £1.5m valuation of the player.

“I think Sunderland cannot go beyond the figure of around 2 million euros,” he told Tutto Mercato.
