Sunderland are the latest club to be linked with a move for Derby County midfielder Jeff Hendrick.
Newly-promoted Burnley are understood to have seen two bids rejected by the Championship side for the Republic of Ireland midfielder.
The Clarets highest offer is reported to be in the region of £6million but Derby are keen to keep hold and have slapped a £10million asking price on the schemer’s head as they bid to mount their own promotion push this season.
Sunderland boss David Moyes wants to add some creativity to his midfield and is now said to be monitoring Hendrick’s situation at Derby.
The 24-year-old is under contract until 2018 and, as such, the Rams are under no pressure to sell, although they could find it hard to prevent Hendrick moving to the Stadium of Light if Sunderland do match their valuation before the transfer window closes.
