Chelsea’s incoming boss Antonio Conte is said to be a fan of Emanuele Giaccherini and wants to sign the Sunderland utility man.
Giaccherini is currently on loan at Bologna and has made it clear he has no desire to return to the Stadium of Light, claiming in February that he would like to make his stay in Italy permanent.
Having struggled during his time on Wearside, the Italian has caught the eye with his performance in Serie A this term, scoring six times in 19 appearances.
Tuttomercatoweb.com are now claiming that Conte wants to make the 30-year-old one of his first signings when he takes charge at Stamford Bridge, the Italian having reportedly agreed to become Chelsea manager after Euro 2016.
The Black Cats paid £6.6million when they signed Giaccherini in 2013 but are unlikely to recoup much of the fee they forked out for him given his age and his contract on Wearside having just over a year left to run.
