Sunderland are eyeing up former Liverpool midfielder Joao Teixeira.
The 23-year-old moved to Porto in the summer but he has struggled to break into the first-team since then.
It has led to reports that the Portuguese player is ready to leave on loan in January in the hope he can secure more action.
Sunderland, according to Don Balon, are one of those interested in Teixeira and they could move for him when the transfer window reopens.
Black Cats manager David Moyes is expected to add to his squad in January and the midfielder is one of his targets.
Porto are reportedly willing to allow Teixeira leave on loan – but only if they can secure a replacement.
