Sunderland left-back Patrick van Aanholt has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal at the Stadium of Light.
The 25-year-old Netherlands international was a major part of the Black Cats side which escaped relegation last season and he also has a nice habit of netting his fair share of goals, he got four last season in the Premier League.
The new four-year deal keeps Van Aanholt, who was signed from Chelsea in 2014, at the club until at least 2020 and boss Sam Allardyce is delighted with the move.
He told the club’s official website: “Patrick was an outstanding performer last season, contributing not only solid defensive performances, but also assists and vital goals.
“It is fantastic to be able to secure the long-term services of such a talented footballer and athlete, who will hopefully continue to improve here for many years to come.”
