Sunderland boss David Moyes is looking to be reunited with Phil Jagielka before he sanctions a move for Lamine Kone to Everton.
John Stones’ mega-money move from Everton to Manchester City is set to trigger an avalanche of follow on moves and one of those is Kone to Everton for £18m, a profit of £13m in just six months for Sunderland.
Moyes though wants a replacement as part of the deal and he would like to be teamed up again with Jagielka, a player he signed for Everton from Sheffield United in 2007.
Everton are also set to sign Ashley Williams from Swansea so a move for the former England defender Jagielka could be a possibility for the Black Cats.
