1 – A drawn-out affair
A few months ago, Sam Allardyce was bemoaning the fact Sunderland were losing games they should have drawn.
Now they are drawing games they should be winning.
That’s four stalemates in a row for the Black Cats – and there’s an argument they should have won all four.
Big Sam has certainly made Sunderland hard to beat but the most alarming statistic is they have won just one out of the last ten.
2 – No clean sheet consolation
Allardyce has been dreaming of clean sheets but Sunderland’s first in 18 games was no cause for celebration.
The Baggies barely posed an attacking threat but more pertinently, the Black Cats lacked a cutting edge this afternoon.
When they score, Sunderland tend to concede and now that they have shut out the opposition, they cannot find the net.
