West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan believes summer signing Simone Zaza has the ability to become a “major star” this season.
Zaza was among 12 signings made by the Hammers in a busy summer transfer window after he joined from Juventus on a season-long loan with the option to make the switch permanent at the end of the campaign.
The Italy international has already played at West Ham’s new London Stadium home, coming on and scoring the winner for Juve in a 3-2 friendly win for the Serie A champions on August 7, and Sullivan is big fan.
“Zaza could become one of the major stars, and we saw his qualities when he came on at the London Stadium and scored a couple of weeks ago,” Sullivan said on the West Ham website.
“He’s fit and ready to play. We expect him to lead the line against Watford.”
