Zlatan Ibrahimovic has agreed a deal to become Jose Mourinho’s first signing at Manchester United.
talkSPORT understands the veteran Swedish striker will pen a one-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.
Ibrahimovic will move to United a on a free transfer after ending his glittering four-year stay at Paris Saint-Germain.
The 34-year-old struck a staggering 38 goals to fire PSG to a fourth successive title in the recently-finished Ligue 1 season.
But he decided to move on this summer in search of a new challenge – and is heading for the Premier League.
Mourinho will succeed Louis van Gaal as United boss, with confirmation expected later this week, and has already convinced Ibrahimovic to join him at Old Trafford.
The self-styled Special One managed the enigmatic Ibrahmovic at Inter Milan and they have remained close since their time at the San Siro.
Ibrahimovic even wrote in his autobiography: “Mourinho would become a guy I was basically willing to die for.”
Now the pair set to be reunited at Old Trafford, with serial winner Ibrahimovic seen as the ideal man to lead United into a successful new era.
