AZ Alkmaar technical director Max Huiberts has warned Tottenham target Vincent Janssen that he will not be moving on this summer.
Spurs have had an offer, thought to be in the region of £14m to £15m, turned down the Dutch side as they look to get the maximum possible transfer fee for the striker who has burst onto the scene over the past two years.
The 22-year-old found the back of the net 27 times in just 34 appearances last season and that has led to plenty of speculation about him leaving and he himself said he thought the Spurs offer was a good one.
He said, “I have expressed my choice to the club. In my opinion, Spurs bid a high amount. At the moment I’m still a bit disappointed with AZ. I’m disappointed with how they behaved. I would like to make the move.and AZ should allow him to leave.”
Huiberts has hit back and told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad: “We have done extensive research to approximate the market value of Vincent, with people who understand it, for example.
“We have ambition at AZ and want to belong to the top four in the Netherlands, so it does not help if we sell our players. Vincent signed a contract here a year ago for three years. Basically, we do not want to lose him.”
