Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer is convinced that new signing Vincent Janssen will be a success in the Premier League.
Spurs landed the Dutch ace three weeks ago after a protracted transfer and Austrian defender Wimmer has had a taste of what other defenders can expect this season in pre-season training.
Wimmer sat out Spurs’ defeat to Juventus on Tuesday nursing a black eye he picked up from Janssen in training and he’s predicted a good season for the striker.
“It happened in training last week Vincent Janssen got his elbow in, a little accident in training,” Wimmer said.
“He’s very physical. He always moves his body very well and he’s a strong player and I think he’ll be a very good player for us.
“I think he will [suit the Premier League], yeah. I first saw him before the Euros when Austria played Holland. In that game, I thought he’s a very good player – he convinced me he was very strong. He also shoots very well. I think he’ll be a very good man for us and he’ll help us a lot for sure.”
