Rickie Lambert says he wants to stay at West Brom – although reports claim he could be allowed to leave on loan by Tony Pulis.
The ex-Liverpool striker hopes to impress Pulis during pre-season and remain part of the head coach’s plans for the forthcoming campaign.
Lambert made only five Premier League starts for West Brom last season, scoring one goal, but is keen to make it work at The Hawthorns.
“I hope to remain with West Brom,” he told Sky Sports News. “I’ll be going to pre-season and then see what happens.
“My objective is to help West Brom, that’s what I want to do, but it didn’t happen for me last season.
“I’ll have to see what happens when I get back and then go from there. My main thought in my head is to come back in the best shape possible.”
