French outfit Marseille are reported to have opened talks with Swansea striker Bafetimbi Gomis ahead of a summer move.
The 30-year-old looks set to leave the Swans on loan, with Marseille then able to make the move permanent next year if all goes according to plan and the striker shines.
Gomis has not travelled with Swansea on their pre-season tour to the USA after he failed to deliver last season and boss Francesco Guidolin is happy to let him go.
He scored seven goals in 35 appearances last season but Marseille see him as a possible replacement for Michy Batshuayi, who joined Chelsea for £33million last week.
The Ligue 1 giants are expected to pay Swansea 70 per cent of the player’s wages, in order for a deal to be pushed through sooner rather than later.
