West Ham striker Diafra Sakho looks like he has got his wish of a move away from the Hammers after a £15m fee was agreed with West Brom
It had looked as though Sakho would be on his way to Sunderland and a reunion with Sam Allardyce but they failed to come up with the asking price. Allardyce then took up the England job and that allowed West Brom to nip in and land the forward ahead of them.
The Senegal international had put in a transfer request after it became clear his chances of first-team football under Slaven Bilic were looking slim but David Gold said he would not be sold unless a replacement was found first, so the deal could mean the Andre Ayew move from Swansea is set to be complete.
The deal for Sakho will lead to West Brom offloading their striker, Saido Berahino, who looks set for a move to either Crystal Palace or Stoke City.
