Ajax are reported to be closing in on a move to sign Chelsea striker Bertrand Traore on a season-long loan deal.
Ajax are in desperate need of more attacking options following the departure of Poland international Arkadiusz Milik to Napoli for 35million euros this summer.
The Dutch club have been linked with various targets but it now appears they will be adding Traore to their squad on a temporary basis after holding successful talks with the Blues.
The 20-year-old is highly regarded at Stamford Bridge and he has been a prominent figure in pre-season, having scored two goals in what has been a successful spell.
Ajax are expected to shell out £1.7m for the Burkina Faso international but there will be no option to make the deal permanent as Chelsea want the youngster to return.
Traore’s departure does suggest Chelsea are close to bringing in another forward, with only Diego Costa, Michy Batshuayi and Loic Remy their recognised frontmen.
