West Ham are being linked with a move for Liverpool striker Christian Benteke but his wages may prove to be a problem.
The Reds are apparently ready to offload the Belgium international as he has failed to live up to his £32.5million price tag.
However, his wages, said to be around £120,000-a-week, will be a stumbling block.
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is set to make plenty of additions this summer prior to the club moving to the new stadium and Benteke would certainly be an expensive addition.
The 25-year-old wants to rebuild his reputation in the Premier League and if he were to go to another Premier League side, Liverpool could well find themselves subsidising his wages by around a third – £40,000-a-week – for the duration of his contract.
