Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo is hoping his exploits for the Under-21 side will have brought him to the attention of Jurgen Klopp.
The 18-year-old netted a hat-trick in the win over Middlesbrough at Hartlepool and he is hoping his efforts will have caught the manager’s eye. Ojo has been on the fringes of the first team all season, making his debut in the young team that drew at Exeter in the FA Cup and then scoring in the third round replay.
He also featured against West Ham and he is desperate to force his way into the first-team reckoning on a regular basis.
“Hopefully I can impress the manager whenever I get the opportunity,” Ojo told the Post.
“I have to keep trying to do well for the under-21s, keep learning and push on from there.”It was nice to get a hat-trick but my main focus was to get the three points.”I should have scored even more goals and I need to work on that but it was a great win for us.”
