Stoke are understood to be keen on Al Ahly forward Ramadan Sobhy, although his agent insists no offer has yet been made.
Sobhy has attracted interest from Europe following some eye-catching displays for Al Ahly since making his debut in 2014.
The 18-year-old is understood to be on the radar of Arsenal and Roma, although Stoke are reportedly leading the race.
The forward has emerged as one of AfricaÂ’s top young prospects having featured for Egypt six times and starring in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Stoke have been keeping close tabs on his progress with scouts watching his matches, however, his agent, Nader Shawky insists they are yet to make an official offer.
Shawky said: “Stoke City has not made a bid for the player or his club [Al Ahly]. And scouts have been traveling to Egypt recently to watch Sobhy, but none have made an official inquiry or bid for his services.”
