Stoke City target Axel Witsel has confessed he is tempted by the prospect of playing for Roma.
The Belgium international is set to leave Zenit St Petersburg this summer after informing the Russian club he wants a new challenge.
Stoke have already enquired after the player and manager Mark Hughes is keen to bring the midfielder to the Premier League.
However Roma are also sniffing around the 27-year-old as they look to find a replacement for Miralem Pjanic, who has joined Juventus.
And now they have been given a boost in their pursuit after Witsel admitted his tempted by a move to the Italian capital.
“Roma? That wouldn’t be bad as a future destination,” Witsel told Walfoot.be.
“To be honest, though, I still haven’t had any contact with the Giallorossi.”
