The 28-year-old decided to leave Schalke in the summer and Stoke signed him on a free transfer.
In his three-year spell he scored 18 goals in 82 games for the German giants but he has made a flying start to his Potters career.
He scored two goals in the 2-2 draw against Manchester United and the Cameroon international admits he is enjoying his time at the bet365 Stadium in a pressure-cooker environment.
He told the club’s official website: “We saw that at the weekend, when there was one or two minutes left to go, I knew they would continue to put pressure on us, so you have to be focussed until the very end.
“There are definitely no easy games in this league and Saturday was one of the most difficult we have faced up to this point, but I thought we stayed strong and fully deserved the point.”
