Tottenham were linked with the 24-year-old Spain international during the summer as boss Mauricio Pochettino confirmed he wanted to add to his attack.

Isco opted to remain with Real, while Spurs instead moved for Moussa Sissoko, but it is thought there remains interest from White Hart Lane.

The former Malaga man has now revealed he will reconsider his future at the Bernabeu at the end of the season if he cannot secure more game time.

“If I’ve still only made a few appearances by the end of the season, I’ll look elsewhere,” Isco, who has managed just five appearances for Los Blancos so far this season, said as reported by talksport. “At 24 years of age I have to right to better myself.”

There has been speculation Spurs could move for the attacking midfielder in the January transfer window rather than wait until next summer but they are likely to face competition as Italian champions Juventus have also been mooted as potential suitors.
