Spurs look set to be disappointed in the chase for Mario Gotze as the playmaker seems set to join Borussia Dortmund from Bayern Munich.
Tottenham were thought to be at the head of the queue for the Germany international, who has apparently decided it is best for him to leave Bayern this summer to secure regular first-team football, but now a move back to his old club Dortmund seems to be on the cards instead.
Reports in Germany say BVB have been in contact with Bayern about re-signing the 24-year-old, who left the Westfalenstadion in 2013 after a successful four years, and he could be allowed to leave the Allianz Arena for just £25million.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino had enquired about Gotze but may now have to look elsewhere as he attempts to strengthen his attacking options further this summer.
Liverpool were also interested in Gotze but decided to splash out £30million on Sadio Mane from Southampton instead.
