The 17-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough year for Posh, making nine appearances in League One already this season, and the midfielder has attracted plenty of attention following some outstanding performances.

Peterborough director Barry Fry admitted in August that the youngster had been watched by Premier League scouts, including Spurs, saying in the Peterborough Telegraph: “The word is out that Leo is a very talented 17-year-old and clubs have been flocking to watch him. We have had no enquiries, never mind bids, but there have been an awful lot of scouts coming to our games just to watch him.

“Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs are among those to have sent scouts to watch him.”

Now, new reports say Spurs are leading the chase for the Portuguese-born starlet and are ready to take a chance on him in January, probably allowing him to initially stay at London Road on loan before he would then join up with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad in the summer.
