Erik Lamela has reportedly told Tottenham they will need to double his wages if he is to sign a contract extension.
Spurs are currently in the process of tying their star players to new deals, Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen penning fresh terms recently, while Kyle Walker is said to be close to signing an extension.
Argentina international Lamela is the next man in line for a new contract after working his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s plans having initially struggled for game time when the South American coach arrived at White Hart Lane.
Lamela appears to have finally settled in north London after a difficult start to life in England and is willing to discuss a new deal, although his demands have seemingly shocked the Tottenham hierarchy.
The 24-year-old, who still has three years left to run on his existing deal, has reportedly called for a three-year extension on top of his current contract and £120,000-a-week, doubling his current wages of £60,000-a-week.
